“To drink a Riesling from Joh. Jos. Prüm is to enjoy a springtime of the heart and mind.” Stephan Reinhardt wrote these words in 2012, but I’m sure he would not be disappointed if we applied them to any vintage from this timeless Mosel icon. Katharina Prüm describes the classically styled 2024 vintage as being “milder” than the 2021s – another cool year – “with no lack of anything, nor any extremes.” The sweetness up to Spätlese level presents in tasting as secondary to saltiness and freshness, the wines impeccably animated and pure.
