This wine is all you could ask for in a cool-climate Shiraz. The fruit comes from the Marengo farm and was fermented with whole berries in open-top tanks. It saw twelve days on skins before pressing to tank and then large, neutral foudres (with one new French barrique). After twelve months’ maturation, it was bottled without filtration.

"The 2024 Shiraz was sourced from the Coal Valley, and the wine leads with dark fruit, star anise, exotic spices and a slew of alpine herbs. In the mouth, the wine is ripe and complete; the fruit and tannins feel supple and silky, and on balance, this is a very attractive cool-climate Syrah. The tannins have a slink to them. This is fine, not big, yet packed with concentrated fruit flavors."
