Jean-François Malsert’s natural leaning, high-grown white wines shine like stars in the night. The pulpy, amphora-raised Rodéo, is a blend of Marsanne and Roussanne on pure gneiss soils Sécheras, elevated 350 metres above the valley floor. With notes of juicy yellow apple skin, herbs and minerals, there’s an engaging skinsy richness to this wine before tension and verve take over, driving the finish towards white florals and a tangy, citrussy finish.
