From the peaks of Yungarra Estate vineyard, some call this the best lookout in Margs. Jo takes great care with the vines here, pruning back to one bunch per shoot, without over-plucking the canopy to ensure perfect shading.
The grapes are small and firm, “like black caviar,” Jo tells us. The tight, marble-like berries went into eggs where they macerated on skins for 6 weeks. Jo basket-pressed the grapes into tank for settling before going into barrel. Bottled in May 2025, this wine saw a slightly longer maturation which softened the firm edges of those densely packed berries.
