This is our first allocation of Bouland’s Corcelette Vieilles Vignes Cailloux, which is drawn from the domaine’s oldest Corcelette vines rooted in the lieu-dit’s rocky Cailloux soils. It’s a terroir that gifts a slightly more structured Morgon than the Sable cuvée. We didn’t take a note on this wine, as at the time of tasting we did not have an allocation. Fortunately, Bouland had a change of heart and William Kelley’s note tells you what you need to know!

Reviews

“The 2021 Morgon Corcelette Vieilles Vignes Cailloux opens in the glass with aromas of cherries, mulberries, sweet spices, licorice and rose petals. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and layered, it’s deep and impressively concentrated, combining classical proportions with superb ripeness. It’s another excellent wine from one of Beaujolais’s most dependable growers.”
93+ points, William Kelley, The Wine Advocate
