Initially released in mid-2016, Northland was the distillery’s first release. The Whisky has been aged a minimum of four and a half years in used Islay (ex Laphroaig) quarter cask barrels. It’s an outstanding dram that has justifiably garnered considerable praise from a number of the Whisky world's heavyweights (see Jim Murray’s notes below), proving our point that age statements are not necessarily all we should be looking at when judging the quality in the glass.

It offers delightful turn on the palate, too. Superb delivery. Yes, this may be a youngster, but the weight of barley-enriched oil is wonderful, especially seeing as there is not a single note of feintiness to be had. With this oil, the smoke, so apparent on the nose, plays a lesser role, though it still hangs around to give lightly peated accent to the gentle cocoa.”
