Les Cortis Obuscule Rouge 2022

The Obuscule (meaning shell) is Les Cortis’ “quintessential spring wine”, made to be rich, complex and reasonably priced. The blend comprises Gamay (66%) and Chardonnay (33%) from a single plot near Bugey. La Côte sits at 330 metres on deep, loamy, rocky soils and is planted to 45– to 75-year-old Gamay and Chardonnay vines. The fruit ferments semi-carbonically for two weeks before maturing in fibreglass tanks for seven months. The wine is bottled without fining or filtration and with just a touch of sulphur.
