Les Cortis Brisûre Rosé 2022

The Brisûre Rosé is equal parts Altesse and Gamay from two of Jérémy Decoster’s plots close to the town of Bugey. The Altesse portion hails from La Guele, a small plot at 350 metres with 45-year-old vines on limestone. The Gamay comes from La Route, an old-vine site (70 years) at 330 metres on similar but slightly more stony soils than La Guele. Both parcels are pressed immediately and ferment in seasoned demi-muids, where they mature for 12-24 months. Decoster uses trace amounts of sulphur, and the wine is bottled unfiltered and unfined. “It’s a special, original wine,” he says.
