“The 2020er Bernkasteler Lay Riesling Auslese offers a gorgeous and superbly complex nose of almond cream, minty herbs, smoke, white flowers, bergamot, and smoke. The wine proves delicately juicy and sweet on the refined and almost light-weighted palate. Some zesty and spicy elements come through in the long finish to tickle to otherwise ripe and honeyed flavors of peach, pear, and apricot.
