The most coveted collection of wine from Champagne is composed of three 100% Chardonnay blanc des blancs from three Grand Cru villages in the Côte des Blancs: Cramant (Chemin de Châlons, Les Mesnil-sur-Oger); Les Carelles; and Avize (Les Chantereines), and three 100% Pinot Noir, blanc de noirs from Mareuil-sur-Aÿ: Sous Le Mont; Aÿ (La Côte Faron) and Ambonnay (Le Bout du Clos). Four of these lieux-dits (those with the larger productions) are sometimes offered for individual sale, but the Cramant and Avize are only ever available in the box set. As for the Avize, Selosse’s parcel in Les Chantereines measures just 0.8 hectares. The best barrel is bottled for the lieux-dits collection. Similarly, the Chemin de Châlons site in Cramant measures just 0.35 hectares, of which a single barrel is also selected for the lieux-dits collection.
