This is an intense, concentrated example of La Romanée from arguably Chassagne’s finest 1er Cru vineyard. Dancer’s vines were established mainly in the late 1970s, with a small parcel planted in 1991. Located high on the slope, La Romanée is a sunny, rocky vineyard that sees little wind. Dancer’s vines are at the bottom, very near Tête du Clos. It is fascinating to compare the two (very different) wines that result. Here the combination of altitude, limestone-rich soils and a warm, sunny aspect (Grand Cru-like elements) gives a powerful combination of concentration and intense minerality.
