Limozin is another beautifully positioned lieu-dit, tucked under the Premiers Crus and bordering Les Charmes, Les Genevrières and Les Poruzots. It’s a clay-rich terroir that typically produces a particularly intense, mineral, long-lived Meursault. The ancient vines, planted in 1937, bring extra concentration and power to the terroir. As always, it’s denser than the Chevalières but also incredibly racy and mineral.

Reviews

“Glowing lemon yellow with a light green tint. A little grilled hazelnut on the nose. Not over dense but with a suppleness of texture. A little orange zest as well as the other citrus fruits, but no grapefruit, so these grapes ripened well enough. Quite long and fine.”
89-92 points, Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy
“Exhibiting more texture and flesh than the incisive Chevalières, the 2021 Meursault Le Limozin offers up aromas of sweet orchard fruit, freshly baked bread, white flowers and hazelnuts, followed by a medium to full-bodied, satiny palate built around a bright spine of acidity. This, too, is a classic in a throwback style.”
90-93 points, William Kelley, The Wine Advocate
