Pertuisots lies mid-slope on the Pommard side of the appellation. The domaine farms half a hectare of vines planted in 1971 and 1987 on lean, brown clay soils over a bedrock of Jurassic limestone. For the Inside Burgundy enthusiasts, Jasper Morris MW holds a minority shareholding in the vineyard! Fermented with one-third whole bunches and raised with minimal new oak, the cooler and shallower Pertuisots terroir gives David Croix’s most refined and ethereal Beaune 1er Cru this year. We’re delighted to finally get an allocation.

Domaine des Croix Beaune 1er Cru Pertuisots 2021

Reviews

"The 2021 Beaune Pertuisots 1er Cru includes one-third stems and has a complex, alluring, sous-bois tinged bouquet that unfurls gracefully in the glass. The palate is very composed, harmonious and silky smooth. The stems impart a subtle pepperiness on the finish. Wonderful. Beaune doesn't get much better."
92-94 points, Neal Martin, Vinous
“One third whole bunch vinification. Bright ripe cherries, darker raspberry. A complete and compelling bouquet. There is such energy behind too, on the palate but above all the fruit fills the mouth in a gorgeously gracious style, with just the right refined tannic structure to finish. Drink from 2025-2032.”
