This rare rosé was made for the first time from the 2007 vintage. It is effectively the wine above (base 2020 with 20% 2019) with the addition of 10% Meunier red. It is a superb wine that Prévost now makes every year, when possible, from the fruit of the same vineyard. Specifically, the grapes come from a small parcel of Les Béguines that is prone to court-noué (fanleaf virus). This virus stunts vigour and gives tiny yields of concentrated bunches and berries that ripen quickly.

Cult wines don’t always live up to the hype, but this bottle surpasses even the highest expectations—we just wish we had more to share around. The dosage this year was 2.5 g/L. As always, it’s a wine of great detail and precision with a bright, red-fruited persona, driven, chalky freshness and a long, perfumed close that carries genuine grip. Serve it in Burgundy glasses alongside a charcuterie board (or any salmon dish) with your closest wine friends—then watch the sparks fly.

Reviews

“The NV Extra Brut Rosé Fac-similie LC20 is rich and layered, offering up aromas of cherries, sweet red berries and plums mingled with warm spices and mandarin oil, followed by a full-bodied, deep and vinous palate, its satiny attack segueing into a sweet, layered mid-palate, concluding with a long, resonant finish. Like its white counterpart, this will reward a bit of patience.”
