Base 2017. Disgorged November 2023. The Selosse Rosé is a blend of two successive vintages of Avize Chardonnay grown on the slopes, dosed with a little Pinot Noir rouge. It spends a minimum of five years on lees and, depending on the vintage, has a dosage of between 1 and 5 g/L. This year’s edition is a blend of 2017 (70%) and 2016 (30%). The red wine this year (3% of the blend) comes from Nicolas Maillart, as yields of Francis Egly’s Ambonnay Pinot Noir were too low. Regardless, it’s always one of Selosse’s most striking wines, which counterpoints the Chardonnay’s texture and lees aging with the bright, red-fruited notes of the Pinot Noir. This year’s dosage is less than 1.5 g/L.
