Benjamin Leroux Nuits-Saint-Georges 2024
Producer Benjamin Leroux
Region, Country Nuits-Saint-Georges, France
Bottle Size 750ml
Product Code 26418-750

Only 24 bottles shipped. Leroux normally makes 30 barrels of Nuits in an average year; this year, he made one! All the vines lie in the northern sector of Nuits, with views of Vosne-Romanée. It’s deep, ripe yet floral and with loads of fruit and vibrant acidity. I didn’t find it nearly as ‘beasty’ as Jasper when tasting it in Burgundy, so I’d suggest using Neal Martin’s note as your guide.

Benjamin Leroux Nuits-Saint-Georges 2024

Reviews

“A rich deep ruby purple. They ended up with just 3hl in final wine from 1.08ha after strict sorting. The foliage looked fine, there was just no fruit. Ultra intense, dark red berries, firm but not dry tannins, quite a beast here. It is not going to have finesse, maybe, but this could be quite an interesting wine to see in 15 or even 25 years. I am not going to risk that in my drinking window though. Drink from 2030-2038.”
88-91 points, Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy
“The 2024 Nuits Saint-Georges Village has a bright, quite floral bouquet with lively red fruit and just a hint of blood orange. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, quite Vosne-Romanée with hints of blue fruit and cassis, poised on the finish. Worth seeking out.”
88-90 points, Neal Martin, Vinous
