Region, Country Bourgogne, France

This blend draws Bourgogne-level fruit from mostly Leroux’s key sources: Maison Dieu in Pommard and Mon Poulain in Volnay, with some Monthelie villages now bringing freshness. The wine is matured in a large Grenier oak cask alongside several smaller barrels. It a wonderful little Côte de Beaune red in a year when this area has done brilliantly with Pinot. A bargain.

Benjamin Leroux Bourgogne Rouge 2024

Reviews

“Mostly sourced from below Pommard and Volnay, with some Monthelie grapes. A medium ruby red. Abundant cherries on the nose. Quite perfumed even on the palate, with a firmer structure behind. This has been racked to tank. Drink from 2027-2029.”
86-88 points, Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy
“The 2024 Bourgogne Rouge, which comes from the Côte de Beaune, offers light cranberry and crushed strawberry scents, just a little disjointed at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with a sweet core of red fruit although I find the finish just a bit raw.”
84-86 points, Neal Martin, Vinous
