Arnoux-Lachaux Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Procès 2022

Les Procès is a very small, wonderful 1er Cru positioned south of the village, next to Les Pruliers. Lachaux’s 0.7 hectares of vines are more than 50 years old and sit just below the Château Gris castle, accounting for a large chunk of this tiny vineyard. Maison Joseph Drouhin owns almost all the remaining acreage. Hence, the vineyard is hardly known, even though I think it makes one of Lachaux’s most intriguing and delicious wines. The 2022 was a little closed on the nose from Clayver, but the palate was fleshy, ferrous and rich with a long, earthy finish and firm structure.
