Arnoux-Lachaux first produced this Grand Cru in 2007. It originates from the purchase of a 0.53-hectare parcel of 58-year-old vines that borders Clos de la Roche. This is the highest, coolest part of the Grand Cru, with a section of the vines surrounded by woods on three sides. The rocky parcel is ploughed by horse and produces outstanding Grand Cru Burgundy every year. This was crafted from yields of just 7.5 hl/ha and fermented with 100% whole bunches and 10% new oak. The 2020 is a floral, lifted wine with great freshness and harmony. It shows the coolness of the site in its freshness and red-fruited persona despite the warmth of the year. In fact, this wine is all about tension, line and perfume. There is good, powdery structure, but it’s very, very fine. As the notes below make clear, this is a Grand Cru wine of great class.
