Thanks to the quality of terroirs, the plant material and the farming practices involved, this wine has long been one of the very finest examples of the Bourgogne AOC. It comes from seven parcels of Pinot Fin (non-clonal Pinot), including one parcel planted in 1959 at Prémeaux, in Nuits-Saint-Georges. This vineyard perennially suffers from millerandage (resulting in tiny berries and bunches) and thus generates very low yields of rich, concentrated juice. Approximately half of this vintage is from Chambolle-Musigny and a quarter each from Vosne-Romanée and Nuits-Saint-Georges. Cropped at a very low 24 hectolitres per hectare (less than half of what is legally permitted), this is Lachaux's highest-yielding cuvée from 2019! It was vinified with 100% whole bunches and raised exclusively in mature barrels. The quality for the level is off the charts.
