This white Rhône blend is a chameleon wine. The blend changes each year depending on climate conditions. This year, it is 48% Viognier, 32% Marsanne and 20% Roussanne. The Roussanne brings great freshness to balance the texture and grip of the other two grapes.
This wine was hand harvested and de-stemmed before pressing into demi-muids for ferment. Just as it was finishing, Bryan moved the blend across (with lees) to a 20hl Stockinger oval where it kicked back until bottling. He added extra solids to the mix which developed a gentle reductive character, a great compliment to grapes that can otherwise appear a bit oily.
