This is the dry white from Jean-Marie Guffens’ Bordeaux project. Having established two iconic properties in Burgundy, Guffens was given the opportunity to purchase the historic Château Closiot from Bernard Sirot (a well known Belgian wine journalist). From what we hear, Guffens could not pack his suitcase quickly enough.
In his notes on the 2025 vintage, Guffens announced that he has decided to take over the Barsac vineyards of Closiot’s neighbour, Château Piada: eight hectares of old vines, which will double the Estate’s acreage. He says this terroir can produce both the most sublime sweet wines and outstanding dry wines.
