Named for the patron saint of Merfy, the Sainte Anne is where the Chartogne range begins. It comes from mature parcels in Merfy and Saint-Thierry, planted between 1970 and 2009, whose diverse, sand-rich limestone terroirs give the wine its vibrancy and finesse. Each plot is vinified separately and blended so that site expression takes centre stage. The 2023 base is 50% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Noir and 10% Meunier. It was matured for nine months in oak barrels of various sizes and blended with 40% reserve wines from 2022, 2020, 2019 and 2018. This was disgorged with a dosage of 4 g/L. It's fleshy and richly textured, yet open, airy and thoroughly delicious. Antonio Galloni once described this perennial overachiever as “one of the very best values in the world of wine, sparkling or not”. This proves him right!

Reviews

"Based on the 2023 vintage, complemented by some 40% reserve wines, and disgorged in May 2026 with a dosage of four grams per liter, the latest NV Sainte Anne emerges from the glass with aromas of yellow apple, peach and spring flowers. Medium- to full-bodied, fleshy and richly textured, it possesses a rich, sweet core of fruit, ripe yet vibrant acidity and an immediately charming profile. Matured in wood for nine months, it is a blend of 50% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Noir and 10% Pinot Meunier. It is a lovely wine, even if it lacks the strong identity of Chartogne's best lieux-dits."
91 points, Kristaps Karklins, The Wine Advocate
"The NV Brut Cuvée Ste.-Anne (base 2023) is laced with hints of dried flowers, chamomile and spice. Open-knit and airy, with lovely mid-palate presence, the Ste.-Anne is a delight. Citrus, marzipan and chamomile build into the refined finish. In this release, the Ste.-Anne is on the more delicate side. This release is based on 2023, with reserve wines from 2022, 2020, 2019 and 2018. Dosage is 3.5 grams per liter. Disgorged: December 2025."
