Von Buhl’s entry level wine is drawn from the Estate’s great sandstone-rich vineyards around the villages of Deidesheim, Forst and Ruppertsberg. All the vineyards are certified organic. Mathieu Kauffmann, the Alsatian CEO and winemaker of von Buhl since 2013 parted ways with the domain shortly before the 2019 harvest, so this 2020 marks the first full season for his successor, the South Tyrolean Gregor Hofer, who previously worked for Von Winning.
In the cellars, most of the juice is naturally fermented in tank, with some parcels fermented in Von Buhl's oval dopplestück oak casks.
