Dancer’s parcel in Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Morgeot—on very rocky limestone—was established in 2013 and is planted to 20,000 vines per hectare. The vines sit in the Morgeot climat historically known as La Grande Bourne, right on the Santenay border. As it is lower down on the slope, there is more clay in the profile than in Dancer’s other Morgeot release from Tête du Clos. The density and location ensure very small, concentrated bunches, which is reflected in the intensity, depth, and length. The 2023 is a superb example.
