The five-hectare vineyard of Les Mazures is one of Chassagne's very finest village parcels, producing remarkably classy, textural Burgundies. With rocky, limestone-rich soils and a southeast aspect, the location is just under the 1er Cru Les Champs-Gains, which goes some way to explaining the quality and breed on offer! The Pillot family owns 0.63 ha of mature vines, and the wine they produce is a superb textural and rocky white burgundy, year in, year out.

Reviews

“The 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Mazures has a refined bouquet, fresh and finely delineated with petrichor, wet limestone scents and hints of orchard fruit. The palate is fresh and vibrant with a salty entry, and that oyster shell/marine influence continues toward the end. Enjoy this Chassagne over the next decade.”
90-92 points, Neal Martin, Vinous
“As usual, the 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Mazures (a climat below premier cru Champs Gain) is more racy and mineral than Pillot's blended communal bottle. Exhibiting aromas of pear, toasted nuts, mint and nutmeg, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and taut, with good depth and cut.”
90-92 points, William Kelley, The Wine Advocate
