Germain’s village blend is now sourced from eight lieux-dits, including the excellent Les Vireuils, Clos du Cromin and Les Pellans. Les Vireuils delivers the racy minerality and Cromin (on the Volnay hill) brings depth and power, while Les Pellans (right on the Puligny border) provides freshness. The other sites include Moulin à Judas (which may become a single release if Lucie Germain gets her way) and Dressoles. The latest addition to the pack is a parcel of Les Corbins, a superb rocky vineyard on the Volnay side of the village that lovers of Domaine Vincent Dancer will know well. Some of the vines from this new plot date back to 1929, bringing the average vine age for this cuvée to over 50 years old.

Domaine Henri Germain Meursault 2022

Reviews

“The 2022 Meursault Village is ample and generous, wafting from the glass with notes of pear, clear honey, green apple and bread dough. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and layered, with a rich core of fruit girdled by lively acids, it concludes with a saline finish.”
90-92 points, William Kelley, The Wine Advocate
“The 2022 Meursault Village comes from a single parcel just below Chevalier. The generous bouquet offers patisserie, subtle melon and Clementine aromas, very intense yet well-defined. The palate is well-balanced, with a tang of marmalade on the entry and very good weight with a touch of walnut and hazelnut on the finish. Excellent.”
90-92 points, Neal Martin, Vinous
