In 2023, he secured two small parcels from Coppabella Vineyard and another unnamed site. Coppabella grows some pretty spiffy fruit, contributing to Penfolds Yattarna for years. The fruit was pressed directly to 20-hectolitre Stockinger foudres for fermentation, and the wine matured for two years on lees. According to Bryan, Grüner “seems right at home” in the large, thick-staved wood, showing the beautiful texture and aromatic spice this variety is known for.
