The Mondeuse plot is Gadenne’s young-vine material for this variety from a very steep, south-facing slope at 400 metres. The vines are 15 years old and rooted in clay\/limestone. The Gamay plot is slightly lower at 350 metres, and the material a touch older at 30 years, but with the same aspect and soil as the Mondeuse plot.
