Les Procès is a very small 1er Cru positioned south of the village of Nuits-Saint-Georges, next to Les Pruliers. The Lachaux’s 0.7 hectares of vines are more than 50 years old, and sit just below the Château Gris castle, accounting for a large chunk of this tiny vineyard. Maison Joseph Drouhin owns almost all the remaining acreage. As always, this is a superb red Burgundy, packed with crushed red fruits, cola, loads of spice and fine tannins. Stunning Nuits.

Reviews

“Notes of plums, wild berries, orange rind and coniferous forest floor introduce the 2018 Nuits Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Procès, a medium to full-bodied, layered and succulent wine that's supple and charming, with refined tannins and a lively spine of acidity that carries through the precise, mineral finish. This, too, is a fine success. This lieu-dit is located at mid-slope next to Les Pruliers just to the south of the town of Nuits-Saint-Georges.”
93 points, William Kelley, The Wine Advocate
“Attractive garnet colour, almost ‘Le vin vermeil’ of earlier times. Discreet nose, alpine strawberry and a little sturdy smokiness, with some underlying raspberry notes, and very good length with just an agreeable trace of acidity underlying. A touch of fresh liquorice and another outstandingly long finish.”
93 points, Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy
