Weinbach Cuvee Laurence Gewurztraminer 2005
OFF DRY. From the bottom of the Altenbourg vineyard, a superb site for both Gewurztraminer and Pinot Gris. The soil here is composed of limestone and clay, producing opulent Gewurztraminer with great aromatic complexity, structure and aging potential. This has aromas and flavours of rose petals, ginger, and honeyed peaches, a penetrating and focused palate, and refreshing juicy acidity to close. Perfectly balanced and very long. Stunning. Alcohol : 13,5 % Residual Sugar : 32 g/l Acidity: 5,2 g/l (AT)

"From lower sections of the Altenbourg and neighboring parcels, the 2005 Gewurztraminer Cuvee Laurence exudes roses, bacon fat and honey, slathers the palate in creamy but refreshingly juicy honey- and spice-drenched peaches and litchis, and seduces the next sip irresistibly with its long, lush finish. This wine is unlikely to tire (nor you of it) for at least a dozen more years, during which some of its significant though already well-integrated sweetness will back off a bit."
