Over the last fifteen years, Von Buhl has managed to return its wine quality to the highest levels, thanks primarily to significant investment in both vineyard and winery. The highly committed team, headed by estate manager Stefan Weber have justified this expenditure by producing exceptional wines at every price point. They have slashed yields, increased selective harvesting (the pickers will now go through a vineyard up to five times to ensure they only pick the ripest fruit), and commenced a program of organic viticulture – the estate is now certified which is very rare in Germany. Von Buhl’s impressive vineyards are principally located in the villages of Forst and Deidesheim and are planted predominantly to Riesling. The QBA Riesling is ridiculous value in good years, and just plain outrageous in 2010. Restocks of the ever-popular 2010 Qba Riesling will be arriving towards the end of February but will not last.
