Recent vintages from Robert Arnoux, in particular 2005, 2006 and 2007, have thrust this producer into the highest quality eschelon in Burgundy. The 2008 wines have just landed and continue Arnoux’s great run. The wines are available in very small quantities and are available on an allocation basis. These are pulpy, polished and highly sought-after wines that come from a 12-hectare property run by Pascal Lachaux, who took over from father-in-law and winery namesake Robert Arnoux in 1995. Since then, the quality of these wines has grown exponentially, especially since 2005 when the new cellar was completed. Pascal also no longer fines or filters the wines and takes an organic and biodynamic approach to viticultural practices. The wines here are rich and textural, supple and plump. They are hedonistic Burgundies of the very highest order.
