Lamothe Vincent Heritage Blanc 2010
Lovers of Sauvignon Blanc and/or textural and refreshing dry whites will find plenty to enjoy in these cracking wines. The Heritage label is essentially the Estates reserve quality. You can still tell is Sauvignon but as many will already know Bordelais Sauvignon, especially from low yields, older vines and good grower, is a completely different beast from those of New Zealand or the Loire Valley. Here there is a more textural quality, less pronounced herbaceousness; more golden than green. Partial barrel fermentation adds a smoky, shimmering sheen to the fruit. Both vintages have a lot to offer. Delicate floral notes, plenty of fruit richness and interest but still quaffable and still thirst quenching. The lovely flavours linger on.
