Even if you don’t speak a word of French, after a buying trip to the cellars of this brilliant Domaine, you may hear this phrase so often that you will soon comprehend its meaning. “Je suis désolée. Nous n'en avons plus” - I’m sorry. We don’t have any left. When you hear this often in a Côte Chalonnaise Domaine, chances are you are on to something special. And that is exactly what occurred when we started visiting Vincent Dureuil in Rully [pron: Roo-yee]. In fact it took us some four years to get an allocation! The simple truth is that although Domaine Duriuel-Janthial works 17 hectares of prime Rully vineyards, they fall well short of satisfying the demand for their mineral, white Burgundies and juicy, sappy reds.
