This is the 'Estate' village white, coming only from Domaine grown fruit. It derives from several different, organically managed plots with an average vine age of 40+ years. Dureuil's fastidiousness in the vineyard and cellar really shines through in this fresh, bright and highly textured white Burgundy. There is plenty of plump, pulpy, stone fruit texture up front, but this wine is as much about precision (textural and aromatic) as it is about generosity of fruit. A deliciously sappy and bright finish keeps you coming back. As it is we only managed 20 cases.
"Here too there is an unintegrated hint of SO2 that sits atop acacia blossom and pear aromas that dissolve into rich, round and rather suave middle weight flavors that offer an attractive hint of minerality on the sappy and lingering finish. This is not overly complex but it is succulent and generous with enough length to be interesting." 87 points, Allen Meadows, Burghound.com, Issue 44
