In a Decanter Magazine feature on the 100 greatest wines ever made, a 1947 Huet Vouvray placed sixth, outranked only by the legendary 1921 Chateau d'Yquem for whites. While, unfortunately, we don’t have this wine to offer*, we do have their modern day equivalents on offer below. The quotes above, gives you an idea of the esteem in which this Domaine and its wines are held. Today it is Noel Pinguet, slowly edging towards full retirement, who holds the key to a body of work that numbers some of France’s greatest white wines. These are intense, mineral whites that are wonderfully pungent when young and that will live forever. Below we offer a vintage bubbles, a couple of 2010’s from the greatest white vintage for eons - full of fruit, structure and energy; a kind of a dream brew - a 2009 from a wonderful sweet year and a smattering of decade-old, perfectly aged wines, direct from the Domaine.
