“For the fireworks, you need to find one of the two cru wines. Les Chailees de L’Enfer and the Coteau de Vernon, both barrique fermented (though with a maximum of 20% new oak). These are both magnificent wines, dripping sensuality from every pore, yet at the same time with a serious mineral backbone to them. Honey and honeysuckle characterize the Vernon, whereas the Chailees has a spicier more fiery quality.” Andrew Jefford, The New France
